Not only do we connect the energies that enable the development of the country, its industry and people, but we also create and develop bonds with the communities and territories in which we are present, generating an impact from Arica to Chiloé.
Our Pillars of Action
A commitment that unfolds on four fronts
Education and Entrepreneurship
It focuses its impact on the classroom as a nucleus of social transformation. More than content transfer, its purpose is to modify the students’ life trajectories by giving them tools that make them agents of change in their own communities.
This pillar includes the Foundation’s first program: LUCES. It is the Foundation’s flagship project and is currently being developed through a pilot program in the Biobío Region, in partnership with América Solidaria and using the Design for Change methodology.
The LUCES program is broken down into five initiatives:
Illuminating
Teacher training for the development of socioemotional skills in the classroom.
Connected Lights (LEGO methodology)
Use of playful tools for problem resolution and teamwork.
Tools Repository
Platform with information and technical resources to reduce the administrative burden on teachers.
Innovation contests
Creative competitions to highlight school community projects.
Empowered schools
Future projection to certify establishments that comprehensively adopt the program offering.
Community Energy
This pillar aims to transform neighborhood associations and community centers located near Transelec substations into “connected” hubs through Wi-Fi connectivity and technological equipment. By doing so, they serve as gathering places and centers for local services and well-being, in addition to acting as coordination centers during contingencies and emergencies.
Assessment
It involves providing proactive support to the communities during the assessment processes of new Transelec infrastructure projects under the Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA), from the initial territorial diagnosis to the permanent operation.
Emergency
Given Chile’s geographic vulnerability, Fundación Transelec assumes the ethical responsibility of not being oblivious to the reality of its neighbors during disasters, leveraging Transelec’s broad presence and territorial capillarity, which grants us a unique position to provide timely responses to fires, floods or earthquakes.
This pillar is based on the concept of neighborhood: if the territory is facing an emergency, the company and the community face it together. Through the Foundation, we will be able to act promptly and become a stability support for the environment.
