We accept solutions with sufficient progress to be tested. Although they may not be 100% finished, it is desirable to have at least a prototype or the ability to make it so we can test it.

We operate with a Venture Client model, whose purpose is to collaborate with startups that can become providers of Transelec.

Challenge #15

Early Identification of Vegetation

We are looking for solutions that enable a fast and reliable identification of plant species, their conservation category, intervention restrictions and whether a permit is required.

Remote Archeological Monitoring
Challenge #16

Remote Archeological Monitoring

We are looking for solutions that allow us to anticipate the presence of archeological remains or risk areas before intervening in a piece of land through scanning technologies, predictive models or the use of existing data.

The Process

Conoce las distintas etapas para transformarte en nuestros socios.

Stage 1: Admissibility

Admissibility review of participants who registered and applied directly through the application platform. If not all fields required in the application form are met or the form was not submitted, the participant is automatically left out of the process.

Startups and companies considered relevant and that are in line with the challenge are pre-selected according to the following criteria: team, prior implementation, feasibility and impact of the solution.
Then, the startups and companies are evaluated in depth by the company’s team. Additional information may be requested from the participants at this stage.

The value proposition is examined in more detail, as well as the match between the participants and the challenges posed by Transelec Ventures, and the solutions’ implementation feasibility. Additionally, revision, analysis and validation meetings are held, the participants receive support in the construction of the pilot proposals or concept tests, and the metrics and hypothesis that will define the success of the pilot are detailed in collaboration with the startup or company.
This stage ends with an internal assessment that decides which proposals will move on to the pilot stage.

The pre-selected startups and companies must present their solutions before a committee formed by the Transelec Ventures team and guests, who will ultimately decide which solutions will move on to the pilot stage.

The selected companies move on to the pilot stage, which is funded by Transelec. This stage allows the startups to implement and test their solutions in a real environment with the support and validation required to execute their projects effectively. The pilots are coordinated between the selected candidates and their respective company counterparts.
The time period contemplates three months since the start of the solution’s testing in our facilities. However, Transelec has the power to extend the time window whenever deemed relevant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. At Transelec Ventures, we work under the Venture Client model, which means that we fund pilots with startups that solve strategic challenges for our company. This allows validating the solution in a real environment, generating value for both parties from the start.

At the validation stage – jointly between the startup or company and Transelec Ventures – through the key metrics and hypothesis that will determine the pilot’s success (or not). After its execution, the obtained data is gathered and compared with the initially defined metrics and hypothesis, assessing the degree of compliance, impact and potential improvement areas. This analysis allows deciding the next steps: continuity (pilot 2.0), scaling or closing of the pilot.

If the pilot shows positive results, there are different future collaboration channels.
When there are hypotheses left to validate and the solution is not sufficiently
mature, designing a second pilot is possible, as long as the results of the first were
promising. If the solution is ready, commercial scaling negotiations begin, including
commercial contracts, operational integration within Transelec or new joint
development stages. Our goal is to build long-term relationships with the startups
that generate real impact.

The time period contemplates three months since the start of the solution’s testing in our facilities. However, Transelec has the power to extend this time window whenever deemed relevant.

Before starting a pilot, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and a piloting agreement
defining the project’s scope, responsibilities, intellectual property and data use are
signed. It is important for the startup to have legal representation or counsel to
review these documents and ensure transparent and safe collaboration for both
parties.

We are looking for startups or companies that have at least one developed
prototype for testing. It may not be in its final version or need adjustments, but a
test must be conducted during the pilot. We value proposals that have validation
and flexibility so we can adapt their solutions to our needs.
