All Transelec’s projects are submitted to the Environmental Impact Evaluation System in order to obtain a favorable Environmental Qualification Resolution and the corresponding sectorial environmental permits. In accordance with the currently applicable laws, works are initiated once these requirements have been fulfilled.
It is worth mentioning that since the inception of the Enavironmental Impact Evaluation System in the country, Transelec has had an active participation in it by voluntarily submitting each one of its projects to the pertinent authority, and by being given favorable environmental qualifications for 22 instances. Thus, to this date, Transelec has the approval for 7 EIA and 14DIA, both for substations and electric transmission lines.
