Transelec’s transmission system operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This means that, from Arica to Chiloé, a work team must be available to monitor every second of the interconnected system’s operation, day and night. It also means being able to count on the expertise of a team that is highly experienced in maintaining the continuity of electric power transportation and repairing possible system failures.
Likewise, Transelec maintains a close relationship with the Government bodies that have direct interaction with the transmitter in matters related to safety, regulation and monitoring of the electric transportation system such as Load Dispatch Centers, the National Energy Commission, and the Superintendency of Electricity and Fuels, which gives it a competitive edge over the other operators. These communication channels are well-known, fluent, and have been coordinated in a manner that makes it possible for the Company to provide quality electric transmission to the Chilean people.
On the other hand, Transelec is able to offer maintenance excellence to its clients, generating companies, distributors and big industries, which have the option to choose from a range of maintenance solutions. Transelec’s maintenance policy aims to obtain high reliability and availability of the installations being exploited in order to fulfill the standards set forth in the current legislation regarding the transmission of electricity by ensuring that the results are of a level that is, at the very least, equal to that stipulated by the country’s current regulations.
Transelec is responsible for the elaboration of the maintenance plans and the work schedules associated to it, that is to say, it has full control over the definition of the projects, concerning both scope and timing.
